Travel by coach
National Express coaches go from London Victoria to Halifax (click 'can't find your destination?' and type Halifax!). Buses from Halifax (10 mins) stop in Wharf Street.

Come by train
Sowerby Bridge station on the Leeds-Manchester line is under 10 minutes walk away. Trains run about every hour. To walk from the station, use the back (northern) exit. Go down the ramp from either platform, down the steps, cross the road, turn left and almost immediately right onto the path (signed Town Centre) across the river to the main road. Turn right, then follow the towpath.

From London Kings Cross, take Grand Central to Halifax, then Northern to Sowerby Bridge (1 stop). Alternatively, take East Coast to Leeds, about 2 1/4 hours, then change to Northern for Sowerby Bridge (trains are mostly headed for Manchester Victoria), about 40 minutes. Kings Cross is a short walk from St Pancras (Eurostar) and on the Piccadilly line from Heathrow.

Where we are
Our base is at Lower Park Marina, Kelbrook Road, Barnoldswick BB18 5TB. Please note that we are only there when preparing and sending boats out, and please don't contact the marina direct - they're very helpful, but their staff have their own things to do.

By road
From the A56 north of Colne, take the B6383 towards Barnoldswick. At the creat of a hill just as you enter the town, follow a brown tourist sign for Lower Park Marina. This leads down a lane to the marina. Please park against the bank on your right. Walk towards the canal and you will see your boat - we'll be waiting. The marina shop serves tea and coffee.

By train to Barnoldswick
Go to Skipton (via Leeds) or Colne (via Manchester Victoria or Preston). You'll need a taxi; phone numbers are advertised at the station, or try 01282 870200.
